At Goalball Queensland, we are more than just an organisation: We are a passionate and dedicated family. Comprising a group of former and current players, parents, coaches, and enthusiasts, our collective vision is to establish an organisation that places athletes before profit. Our journey began out of necessity, driven by the profound belief that athletes with vision impairments deserve the best possible support and resources.
We seek to create the optimal experience for our athletes. That’s when we took matters into our own hands, founding Goalball Queensland with a fervent commitment to making a difference.
We are united by a shared mission: To foster inclusivity, promote physical fitness, and instill confidence within the vision-impaired community through the exhilarating sport of goalball. As a player-centric organisation, we are resolute in our dedication to ensuring our athletes receive the support and opportunities they deserve. Together, we aim to build a brighter future for goalball in Queensland, with a focus on athletes’ well-being and empowerment.

We have developed resources to assist AVTs and HPE teachers with introducing and delivering goalball to students. (EQ teachers, please contact your Head of Statewide Vision Impairment Services, Department of Education for the SharePoint link.)
We also work with Disability Sports Australia (DSA) to deliver awareness multi-sport days within schools, or can tailor to the corporate workplace team training day. Drop us a line.
Check out the Goalball Australia webpage for our playing, coaching, and officiating pathways.
We are always looking at ways to grow this sport in the Sunshine State. If you wish to fund purchase of playing kit (eyeshades, knee pads, elbow pads, body protectors), venue hire, or wish the challenge of a media marketing project with your university subjects, we are interested.
We are the state member of Goalball Australia (GA; who are a member of Blind Sports Australia (BSA); in turn with the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA)). Come and represent Queensland at the national championships, and see how far your goalball skills can go. Let us teach you.
All coaches and teaching members hold a ‘working with children check’ (WWCC) card in Queensland.
